26 Lessons for Life.

Lessons that You Need to Know

August 19, 2024

Dear Diary,

Last week, as I was reflecting on my life and how I've lived it, a tiny voice in my head told me that I've lived it to the fullest, in accordance with the different phases of my life. I lived my life as I liked, fought for my rights, and what I believed I deserved. However, with that came a lot (a whole lot) of mistakes and obstacles. As an overthinker, I tended to dwell in the past, replaying in my mind all the things I've done or said that could have been avoided or dealt in a better manner. Nevertheless, as I started unraveling the depth of life and how it works, I gradually began learning from my experiences. It was during this time that I found the quote, “There are no mistakes in life, only lessons learned." From that point on, everything became a lesson. As someone who enjoys taking chances and leaving no stone unturned, I received quite a substantial amount of lessons. I guess you could say I'm on my path to earning a PhD in Life. Haha.

Anyway, here are a few lessons that I consider important to remind ourselves of from time to time, to help us keep moving forward and climbing higher in life.

26 lessons, I’ve learned in life.

  1. Stop trying to please everyone, you cannot be everyone’s cup of tea.

  2. Finding yourself in adulthood is simply getting back to who you were as a child.

  3. Sometimes you need to get to the lowest point in your life to find the most precious thing that you have in your life.

  4. Step out of your comfort zone, nothing worth ever comes out of your life in your comfort zone.

  5. If you never ask, the answer, will always be no.

  6. Life always seems hard when you’re thinking about it, but if you get out of your head and start living, it’s really simple.

  7. Stop letting your potential go to waste because you don't feel confident or ready enough. People with half your talent are making serious waves while you're still waiting to feel ready.

  8. Your body hears everything that you mind says.

  9. Slow progress is still progress

  10. Your first instinct is usually right. Listen to it.

  11. You can't expect others to read your mind. It's on you to communicate your feelings.

  12. Your self love must be stronger than your desire to be loved.

  13. Accept and let go of the things you cannot control. Work on the things you can control.

  14. Don’t take life so seriously.

  15. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

  16. Don’t let fear of change keep you in spaces you know you’ve outgrown.

  17. When you embrace your most authentic self, you will find the people who will celebrate it.

  18. Nothing, neither good nor bad lasts forever. Let that guide your actions.

  19. Take time to truly understand yourself and, learn what’s important to you in life, and unlearn things that does not serve you anymore.

  20. If you want something, go get it. Never expect someone else to give it to you.

  21. It’s better to try and fail than to not try at all.

  22. Life is full of lessons and learning lessons does not end. There is no part of the process of life that does not contain a lesson. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learnt.

  23. Being happy on purpose is the only way to be truly free.

  24. Your diet is not only what you eat. It’s what you watch. It’s what you listen to. What you read. the people you hang out with. Be mindful of the things you are putting into your body, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

  25. The best years of your life are when you let your wild, passionate, crazy side get an equal say in decision making.

  26. When you focus on the good, the good gets better.

I hope this blog or any of the lessons that have helped me in life can also help you in your journey. Take a screenshot or note down the quotes that resonate with you, and always remind yourself that life can be tough, but so are you!

Lots of Love,

Safaa.
