7 Types of Rest You Need.

Did you know there are 7 different types of rest you need to feel truly renewed and rejuvenated?

July 30, 2024

After returning from one of the most relaxing holidays I’ve had, (where I made sure to get all 7 types of rest to unwind ), I thought I should share the secret to ultimate relaxation with you too!

Incorporating these types of rest into your daily life can greatly enhance your overall well-being and quality of life.

The 7 types of rest you need to prioritize-

  1. Physical Rest - Focus on activities that help your body recover, reduce muscle tension, and increase your energy levels. This includes getting good quality sleep, practicing yoga, taking naps, and engaging in gentle movement exercises.

  2. Mental Rest - Give your brain a break from constant information processing and problem-solving. Try mindfulness practices like meditation, painting, daydreaming, or hobbies that allow your mind to wander. This can help reduce brain fog, improve focus, and boost creativity.

  3. Emotional Rest - Allow yourself to feel and express your emotions in a healthy way. Seek support, create boundaries from emotionally draining situations, and work on building positive relationships. This will help you experience inner peace and emotional balance.

  4. Sensory Rest - Disconnect from electronic devices, embrace silence, minimize exposure to artificial light, and spend time in nature. This type of rest can help calm your mind and reduce sensory overload. (this was my personal favorite, i had my phone on do not disturb mode for days!)

  5. Creative Rest - Engage with the beauty in the world, whether through art, nature, or music. Look for inspiration in your surroundings to bring joy and spark new ideas.

  6. Social Rest - Surround yourself with positive, supportive people and distance yourself from toxic relationships. Building a strong social support system can help reduce stress and improve your mental well-being.

  7. Spiritual Rest - Take time to reflect, meditate, pray, or engage in community activities that bring meaning and purpose to your life. Finding spiritual rest can provide a deep sense of calm and a renewed perspective on your life.

So go ahead, make rest a priority, and reap the benefits of a well-rested mind, body, and soul. 🌞🧡✨

Lots of Love,

Safaa.
