Careful! Don’t forget how lucky you are.

Why are we so quick to get used to the most wonderful things in life and forget how amazing they are?

Since last week, I’ve been reflecting a lot on gratitude, and as always, I have a story to share that sparked this reflection. ✨ 🩰 During my barre class last week, I was struggling to keep up and was so focused on pushing through that I didn’t realize I was scowling throughout the workout. Even though I was standing in front of the mirror, I was completely unaware of the negative expression I had on 😠. However, my trainer noticed and said, “Safaa, smile!” That simple reminder hit me like a train. It made me realize that instead of simply getting through the workout, I should be grateful and excited for the opportunity to be in a barre class, something that is not so common where i am from. It reminded me of the excitement I felt when I first started doing barre and how it made me feel like I was living a dream. These thoughts got me high on gratitude and also made me appreciate living in Dubai (1) and having a community so close to the Pilates studio (2) lets me do and experience so much. (3, 4 things i am grateful for)🤩 (insiders tip) smiling through a barre class not only lightens your mood but also makes the workout feel much easier. 😅😮‍💨 Anyway, this was a simple yet powerful reminder to appreciate the things we have and not take them for granted. I realized that every time we get something we desire, we often overlook how much we longed for it and dreamed of having it. It’s easy to become complacent and treat it as just another part of our daily routine. ( 👩🏻‍🍼example: how we treat our new phones the first two days after getting it, like a baby, and then take them for granted once they become familiar.) 💭This reflection led me to wonder why we tend to take things in our lives for granted and what we can do to appreciate the small or mundane things more consistently. -It’s essential to practice gratitude and seek joy in the little things, to cultivate a greater sense of appreciation for the people, things, and experiences in our lives. 🧡✨So, the next time you find yourself in a challenging situation, remember to smile and embrace the moment with gratitude and positivity!

Lots of Love,

Safaa.
